Stranded Foodie Likes Calistoga Kitchen

While walking around in Calistoga, my appetite was building for a great breakfast place. I always like to ask the locals where they like to eat. And, the Calistoga Kitchen came with great recommendations. Located in the charming downtown area, this house made into a restaurant is a charming small place which offers both indoor and outside seating.

I decided to head inside to try out their brunch since the patio was quite full. Hmm, that’s a good sign. I ordered their French toast which came with delicious fresh strawberries and blueberries. Wow! This French toast was a good as it looks… and it doesn’t get any better than this. The organic maple syrup was loaded into a pitcher and left for me so I could slather as much as I wanted over the huge stacked bready goodness. Oh, and let’s not forget the dollop of fresh whipped cream that was so perfectly sweetened. It was as good as it looks in the photo. Yummy, gooey, and not too sweet. A superb and very memorable French toast. Actually, a new foodie love for me.

My husband had this amazing brunch sandwich with lots of juicy slices of medium rare beef with sautéed peppers and onions. The bread was lightly toasted which added a nice crunch to the sandwich. For him, it was the perfect choice for his brunch craving.

We both agreed we would head back to enjoy another brunch at the Calistoga Kitchen This quaint little place has delectable food and great service… and that’s what it’s all about! Next time, I’ll have one of those Schramsberg mimosas too. Now that’s another excellent brunch to look forward to, right!?
